The Digital Optimization Category // Amplitude IPO

We want to give a HUGE Congratulations to our good friend and former Play Bigger Category Designer In Residence, Jennifer “JJ” Johnson on the direct listing IPO of her latest Category, “Digital Optimization” for Amplitude!

As Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer, JJ and the Amplitude team used Category Design to create their Digital Optimization category which “serves as the command center for businesses to connect digital products to business outcomes.”

Amplitude shares opened at $50 and rose more than 9% to close at $54.80, giving the company a market cap on a fully diluted basis of about $7.1 billion.

Over two dozen Fortune 100 companies use Amplitude, including Ford, Walmart, Atlassian, Peloton and Intuit. Their business revenue spiked during Covid as companies grappled with how to engage customers on their online platforms.
